A shadow is a dark area where light from a light source is blocked by an opaque object. It occupies all of the three-dimensional volume behind an object with light in front of it. The cross section of a shadow is a two-dimensional silhouette, or a reverse projection of the object blocking the light.-Wikipedia
When I started taking landscape photos,I avoid dark areas like shadows.I wanted my photos to be clear and sunny-just like standard postcard photos.Over the years, learning from the work of other photographers,I began to see the beauty of shadows in the photos.I see beautiful patterns and nice distortions of the real objects.
Shadows are virtual. They change with time. You can see them but you can't touch them. They come and they go.
