Looking back and the way forward

I planned to celebrate my two years anniversary of owning Fujifilm X-T1 by going to do a photowalk in KL or to shoot in some exotic place in Malaysia, but I forgot all about it.It must be either to my age or I was deeply engrossed in taking photos and managing my Putrajaya Photowalk Group at my facebook. Most likely it was due to both reasons mentioned. For the record,I got my XT1 on 12th of March,2014.

Fujifilm camera was never my dream camera. To me,Fujifilm is a company that produces films. My first real camera was Nikon F2E using film in 1988.Then,my first DSLR Canon 400D and now it Fujifilm X-T1.Looking back in the last 25 years,I learnt and took photos 20% in first 20 years and 80% in the last 5 years. And that reminds me of the famous Pareto's Principle.

Learning takes a real effort and real time. Many had failed like me in my first 20 years. Most of us are in the comfort zone,as long as we can take family snapshots and everyone is happy. How did I become serious and avid amateur photographer like now?It was due to my cycling in Putrajaya. There are a lot of nice places to see and snap photos there.Another lucky factor was among the riders,we have great amateur photographers whose work are professional class. These friends inspired and guided me all along to shoot better.

It is not in my dream to be commercial or professional photographer.I prefer to be a project management consultant and business coach to budding entrepreneurs. At most,I want to take photos and write stories about my travels and concerns about water and environmenta issues in my beloved country,Malaysia. This is where I can let my creative juice flows...

However,I do enjoy getting paid for my photos when my shots at Putrajaya Wetland was used to advertise property projects in three local newspapers by Putrajaya Holding Bhd.Another inspiring moment when my photo at Pantai Irama,Bachok was sold at Getty Images.

I do enjoy all genres of photography especially landscape, street and portraitures. For whatever time I have left,I wish to enjoy photography as I age gracefully. The journey is the destination.

KB WALK

I planned to have four days of Photowalking around Kota Bharu #KBWalk ,but due to unplanned family errands which I love doing for my  mother and son,I only managed to have two days with only less than 4 hours.Herewith I shared two photos taken behind Pejabat PAS. To do justice to the town,I need at least 7 full days and nights to capture the history  and culture of the place. My first attempt had revealed a lot more for me to explore, discover and capture.Another missing dimension I need to have with me before I embark on KBWalk is the history of Kota Bharu. It has to be another time..May be after Eidil Fitri.

COMPARISON BETWEEN MY IPHONE 14 ProMax VS FUJIFILM XT20

No camera is suitable for every occasion. Here is a simple comparison. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses, and I love both.
