Composition 2.0

Looking back to my learning to shoot a good photo,I think it started when I got my Lumix LX5 way back in 2011.Every time,we cycle in Putrajaya,I took photos of my rides and blogged about them.During my rides,I met and learnt photography from my riding buddies-Pak Rahmat,Nazley,Adzmi , Firdaus and others. My main focus was in composition and I shoot on auto mode most of the time till end of 2014.As my composition improved my photos also improved. My confidence was boosted when an Ad Agency bought my first photo to use in the advertisement of property projects developed by PJH Sdn. Bhd.I was so happy because my photo was printed in three national newspapers.Currently,I have more than 50 photos at Getty Images for sale and this year I sold one.As they say,the rest is history. The point I want to make here is to get our composition right.

Over the years,I have developed my own style based on some good principles and practice from the Masters. In these three photos I took at Taman Saujana Hijau, you will notice that I took time and made an effort to get right subject at the right location and background. This involved the Art of Seeing which I had acquired over the recent years.Putrajaya has many beautiful places, buildings and events to inspire and motivate me to take photos.

To  the new photographers, you need to shoot a lot and learn a lot.I found there was no short cut.Learning take time and efforts. At my flickr account,I have already archived more than 20,000 photos. To become better photographers,we need time and effort to learn by reading magazines/books,attending talks/seminars and learn from good photographers in persons or online.

I am no expert in composition-just an older student. At first,it is a science to me-now it is some where between science and art. However,I hope to excel in this subject to the level of art while I take time  to upgrade my technical knowledge of camera and photography.

To me,photography is not only about beautiful and award winning photos.Photos make me ponder more on the creations which later lead me to Allah Al Khaliq Al Mussawir.

KB WALK

I planned to have four days of Photowalking around Kota Bharu #KBWalk ,but due to unplanned family errands which I love doing for my  mother and son,I only managed to have two days with only less than 4 hours.Herewith I shared two photos taken behind Pejabat PAS. To do justice to the town,I need at least 7 full days and nights to capture the history  and culture of the place. My first attempt had revealed a lot more for me to explore, discover and capture.Another missing dimension I need to have with me before I embark on KBWalk is the history of Kota Bharu. It has to be another time..May be after Eidil Fitri.

COMPARISON BETWEEN MY IPHONE 14 ProMax VS FUJIFILM XT20

No camera is suitable for every occasion. Here is a simple comparison. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses, and I love both.
