Camera Skills for Monochrome

Little knowledge is very dangerous. Corrupted knowledge is fatal! In my case,I have a little knowledge of photography but lacking deeply on camera hardware/software and colour behaviour. One of my mistakes was that I made an assumption that shooting in B&W is better than shooting in colour and later convert to B&W.It sounds logical but it is not true.

After getting some answers on WHAT to shoot,WHEN to shoot,WHERE to shoot, the final question comes hitting my nose on HOW to shoot before my fore-finger click the shutter.Below are the main points to be considered in using my camera with reference to the notes as shown in the above image:

1.File format

2.Black and White Mode

3.ISO sensitivity

4.White Balance

5.Exposure Bracketing

All the above are very technical to a water engineer like me.But if I want to be in control of the output i.e the photo,I have to know and manage these processes. The next phase of my journey is to go out and shoot. Most of the photos I uploaded were formally jpeg colour photos converted to B&W.
