PHOTO WITH MEANING

Many beautiful photos are just beautiful, but do not carry much meaning. It is just like beautifully decorated food at the hotel but its tastes like normal meal at roadside stall.Ten years has gone by since I bought my first DSLR camera. With a new toy,I shoot almost anything I like that look nice.As the years went by,I began to take better photos and  look nicer. When wisdom creeps in slowly,I am now more interested to get photos with meaning to me personally and to the society in general.

The world famous professional photographer has this to say in her new year 2017 resolution:

Take photographs that bring you joys, work on projects that are uplifting and give back to those who matter to you.

And that was what I was doing in the last two years. It does not matter whether I get 10 likes or 100 likes at my facebook. What matters more is I am enjoying my personal journey in the world of photography.

However,I do make use of my photos to convey some messages that matters to me-in my Facebook and in my blog.

One of my hobbies is cycling.I know the fun and the joys of cycling.Cycling on a flooded trail is a special event. And I love it.Here is my shot of my fellow rider when we did Putrajaya Wetland Ride many years ago..Scary,hard pedalling but great fun.

This beach Pantai Irama, located in Bachok will remains special to me forever. The above photo was a rare sight that I was given to photograph.Alhamdulilah.This is my first seaside that I came to know since I was a kid-about 60 years ago.Good or bad is still my beach that I belong to.Just look at the families having picnic here-as shown in the photo below. It reminds me when my mother took me here many, many years ago..

When I got my first DSLR,I began to take photos in Bachok. This is my personal photo project entitled BACHOK IS BEAUTIFUL.

This is Zuhayr Adib ,my first grandson.-4 years old.He was smiling from ear to ear enjoying his first train ride to KLIA.Lucky boy.My first train ride was when I was 13 years from Palekbang to KL to Tanjung Malim in January,1965.

As an engineer who loves mathematics, geometry is my passion. Not only in theory but also in its applications in the real world. Here is my lucky shot of the LRT Tunnel taken when I was on the train  from Ampang Park to KLCC.What a beautiful 3-D geometry in motion!

Street Photography is new to me.I am still exploring it at my own pace-since three years ago.Whenever,I found a nice place to take photos,I just wait like an angler for the fish to bite.Expect nothing, whatever  shot I get is a gift.I am grateful to be given a chance to shoot this image.A sight to behold!

WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK 12-26 AUGUST 2024

World Photography Week is celebrated globally with World Photography Day on August 19, 2024, as the centerpiece. This day honors the art, history, and evolution of photography, marking the anniversary of the daguerreotype process, the first photographic technique unveiled by Louis Daguerre in 1839. World Photography Week often features various events, exhibitions, and social media activities, all aimed at celebrating and promoting photography. The 2024 theme for World Photography Day is "An Entire Day," encouraging photographers to capture the myriad of activities and moments that occur around the world in a single day. Throughout the week, photography enthusiasts are invited to share their work on social media using the hashtag #WPD24 to have their photos potentially featured on platforms like those of the Royal Photographic Society. This celebration provides an opportunity for photographers of all levels to showcase their work, learn from others, and appreciate the rich ...
