READING BOOK..

It is a rare sight to see Malaysians reading books in public places like train stations, airport or in cafes. Some still read newspapers inside kopitiams but more and more prefer to see on their smart phones-Facebook, News, whatsapp, telegram, twitter etc.Even in the mosques, some people read Quran from their smart phones. Internet and smart phone apps had made many changes on the ways we get and read information, news, articles ,notes etc. What is more important is more and more people are reading. What they read is another matter.Let us not be prejudiced about what they read online because we are reading real books. The young people may be reading better stuff than we do.If we have good contents for our young people to read, convert them online and make them more interesting to read. All of us young and old must embrace disruptive technologies and use them to our advantages. Personally,I still like paper books.Old habit die hard.

SHOOTING THROUGH THE GLASS

Shooting through a transparent glass can be very interesting when the photos turned into works of art!It all depends on your location and lighting like the above. The rain drops added some drama to it. Below is a shot taken from inside a LRT Train station as I saw an approaching train slowed down to stop. This photo also shows the reflection of the people on the platform. The top and below photos were taken from a moving train. It appeared like I was walking on the rail. Here, you can see the glass wall at Dior ,Suria KLCC. There are so many ways to shoot through a glass wall.Just do it.What you see is what you get,but not all the time.

KLIA SHOTS @TRAVELATORS

THESE TRAVELATORS CONNECT THE MAIN TERMINAL BUILDING TO THE CAR PARK. SOME PEOPLE PREFER TO WALK. THE PLACE OFFERS MANY WAYS TO SHOOT PEOPLE ON THE GO.

PHOTOS WITH FEELINGS

IT IS NOT WHAT YOU SEE ONLY .BUT IT IS MORE ON WHAT YOU FEEL. SHOOTING THE VISUAL IS EASY. CAPTURING THE FEELING IA THE ART!

Privileged Few..

Sharing photos of birds  Even just one bird,it completes the picture of  a wetland or a lake.

LIFE UNDER THE SHADOW

Light and objects of obstructions create shadows. The shadows come in all shapes, sizes and intensities. It is transient as the light from the sun moves with time of the day and seasons. Some people prefer to be in the shadows for their own reasons - to hide from the hot sun or hide from being seen by others.Or to hide from their crimes! And they are shadowy figures. As a photographer.I love shadows because they create contrast, patterns and mystery of hidden objects. At times, I see silhouettes. Below I see  TRIANGLE OF PEOPLE CONTRAST SHADOWS PATTERNS

EYEEM LESSON #08:OWN STYLE

Photography is a visual language. Everyone of us photographers have our own style;it is just like the way we speak or write. On Street Photography,I like Valerie Jardin's way of taking photos on the streets. Below are two photos that show my preferred way to shoot street photos.I like colourful background and beautiful people living their urbane life. Colourful activities Top & Bottom Another one of my style is to capture people in shopping complexes, shops and cafes. The above was shot at LV Shop at Suria KLCC.I waited for someone to stop and look at the display and I got her!The same thing happened as in the photo below.I prefer individual and not group of people.I chose the location and shoot when something happens inside my target frame! Photo with an individual has more character  than a group of people. On landscapes,I like small and intimate landscape like what I captured at the top and at the bottom. Not a vast pano...

KTM KL Station

My first train ride began in Palekbang Railway Station(now closed, taken over by Wakaf Baru Station) on Saturday morning 9th January,1965.It was a special ride that made me happy to be admitted to a full boarding school SDAR,Tanjung Malim. Also it equally made me very sad leaving my parents and siblings at tender age of 12 years old.My Express Mail Train stopped at major stations and my disembarkation station is Kuala Lumpur. After travelling all the way to Gemas,I arrived at KL Central Railway Station the next morning at about 7am.On my exit of the station,I had my first encounter with Masjid Negara-a RM10 million mosque!  KL Railway Station meant a lot to me.It was my gateway to the city from my kampung,Pondok Beris,Bachok in Kelantan. At the end of each school semester break,I was given a free railway ticket to go back to my kampung.Over the period of four years I was in SDAR,I used KTM 24 times and passed through KL Railway Station on every trip home. When I was in Eng...

KL PHOTOWALK 19/2/2017

This is our first Photowalk for Putrajaya Photowalk Group this year -2017. Last year I organised three times but I also attended other photo walks organised by others. We kicked off at Masjid India, crossed the Jalan Tun Perak and explored areas around Pasar Seni. Sadly, Pasar Seni is only open from 10am. We were here at about 9:30am and missed the chance to explore Pasar Seni. However,I was very pleased to see colourful people around its vicinity. Market, by its own nature, is full of the lively and colourful crowd as shown above. By the way, I love to shoot colourful umbrellas. Two subjects that attract my interest when I walk in the city-the people and the buildings.Over the last 50 years old buildings are fading away and more new buildings are coming up.Commercial considerations had taken over historical interests and significance.Such is life for many newly developed nations. Are we building liveable cities in our countries?I have yet to see it in Malaysia.May be...
