The Waters of Putrajaya

When I started cycling in Putrajaya sometime in August 2008,I discovered a few large water bodies all over the city. Technically speaking ,they are rivers and wetlands. The public called these wide bodies of shallow waters as lakes. In fact, most of the government office blocks are on The Core Island except The Prime Minister Office and PICC.

Above is the photo of the lake where Water Recreational Centre is located. You can come here for boating, kayaking, fishing etc.Personally,I come to this location for cycling, walking, photography and breakfast.

Across the bridge on your right, you can see a bird sanctuary/breeeding ground as shown below. Here, the lake is only for the birds.I love the black swans and the Egypitian ducks.

The Putra Bridge below is one of my favourite bridges in the world. It connects the Core Island to Masjid Putra and PM Office. The platform for the future railway station is inside this bridge.Below is the Lakeside Cruise office where you can ride gondolas and catamarans. There is a linear garden called The Esplanade starting here all the way to Alamanda Shopping Centre where you can see a few bird islands. It is good route for cycling,walking/running and photography.

Here is The Marina-The Water Sport Centre. The water here is not for fishing.Pullman Hotel is nearby. This location also has man-made sandy beach for kids.

The ladies are walking on the wooden jetty by the lakeside at Taman Botani. Here you can a weir that control the depth of water upstream. At the Botani Garden,I saw many different types and trees. It is good to walk than to cycle here.

Below is a typical scenery along the path around The Core Island.I love to sit here and enjoy the views.

Below is a photo of your truly having fun cycling on inundated cycling route at Putrajaya Wetlands.

The Lake Cruise Catamaran
Fish feeding area at Taman Botani.

Here is my favourite place sit and relax at Umai Cafe.On my left,I will see the Masjid Tuanku Mizan and on my right I can see Ayer@8.Once a while,I could see cruise boats plying by.

View from Putrajaya Lake Club at Presint 8.Here,you can enjoy the good food and enjoy the views of Istana, this bridge and The PM Office(not in the photo) on the right.

The jetties at Water Sport  Centre.

Below is my favourite labyrinth weir located at Taman Seri Empangan. The bridge above this hydraulic structure is very beautiful, not to mention the sounds of falling water. All the water in the lake will pass through this weir  before it flows to the river.

KB WALK

I planned to have four days of Photowalking around Kota Bharu #KBWalk ,but due to unplanned family errands which I love doing for my  mother and son,I only managed to have two days with only less than 4 hours.Herewith I shared two photos taken behind Pejabat PAS. To do justice to the town,I need at least 7 full days and nights to capture the history  and culture of the place. My first attempt had revealed a lot more for me to explore, discover and capture.Another missing dimension I need to have with me before I embark on KBWalk is the history of Kota Bharu. It has to be another time..May be after Eidil Fitri.

COMPARISON BETWEEN MY IPHONE 14 ProMax VS FUJIFILM XT20

No camera is suitable for every occasion. Here is a simple comparison. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses, and I love both.
