Night shots

I sleep early by 10pm.As I grow older,I prefer to stay home at night-unless on special occassions like wedding, festival or going for family dinners. So,there exists very little opportunity for me to take photos at night. When I was younger,I took night photos with my Lumix camera during my night cycling in Putrajaya.

This lack of experience increases my probabilities to fail in getting great night photos. Many a time I failed to shoot good night photos even with my  Canon 400D-my first DSLR camera that I bought in December,2006.Whenever I went out at night, most of the time I took along Panasonic Lumix LX5.Somehow,I can get it to make better night photos compared to my Canon 400D,

The above and below photos were taken using Lumix LX5 at Putrajaya Light Festival. There were so many good photo opportunities that I lost due to my little knowledge to use my gears and my lacking in skills to take night photos.Lately, when it comes to taking photos at night,I pull out my Samsung Galaxy Note5-a very smart mobile phone with great lens.

I love to watch dancing and colourful water fountains at night.Since April,2016 my default camera for night shots like the above and below photos is Note5.So far,it serves my need but not my expectation.

At night, the building can look different from other nights. It is all about its lighting and the lighting of nearby buildings and infrastructures.Luck plays a lot especially when it comes to weather. When it rains,I just order more coffee and stay safe in the restaurant nearby-Umai Cafe.

World Photography Week often features various events, exhibitions, and social media activities, all aimed at celebrating and promoting photography. The 2024 theme for World Photography Day is "An Entire Day," encouraging photographers to capture the myriad of activities and moments that occur around the world in a single day. Throughout the week, photography enthusiasts are invited to share their work on social media using the hashtag #WPD24 to have their photos potentially featured on platforms like those of the Royal Photographic Society. This celebration provides an opportunity for photographers of all levels to showcase their work, learn from others, and appreciate the rich ...
