SHOOTING THE CITY

I was born in the kampung Pondok Beris but during my formative years,I was growing up in a small town called Tanjung Malim for four years and later in Kuala Lumpur for another four years before I went to Sheffield University for three years degree course. On graduation,I worked in a small town of Pasir Mas, Kelantan for four years and later moved to a bigger town of Alor Setar. After two years in Kedah,I got myself back in KL. After living in KL for a quarter of a century,I decided to move to a suburb town called Bandar Baru Bangi where I now live with my wife and son.

Looking back,20% of my life was in my kampung,40% I was away in the suburbs and 40% in the city including 3 years in UK.I was a kampung boy who by fate has become a city man and now enjoying a very urbane lifestyle.Whenever I am in KL,I feel that it is my own town but lately,I feel like a foreigner in my own country when I encounter too many of foreign workers flooding our cities and towns. Moving to Bangi is a retreat for me before I fade away and leave this world.

I like city life and wish to remain there until my time to leave. The city is alive with people and activities.I love the flow and dynamics. If it is not for traffic jams,I will live in KL. Bangi is a suburb-mix of kampung and modern living. Modern shopping complexes and other social facilities are 10 minutes away in Putrajaya.I am trying to enjoy both.

Photography is my hobby that I am deeply involved and lately, I got inspired by the sales of my photos at Getty Images.A few days ago,I read an article in Digital Camera Malaysia,July 2015 Edition. It is entitled 10 Ways To Shoot The City.It is talking about urban architectures, street photography and portraitures, the people etc.In short,it is about living in a city.It is about life that never fails to fascinate me. As a passionate photographer,I love to capture life moments as they are happening in the city where and when I am not only as an observer but also inside the framed moments in time.

Our National or Independence Day is coming soon.I am inviting some friends to join me to walk the streets of KL and capture some beautiful moments in the lives of our city dwellers and whoever happens to be there.

Date: 30th Aug.,2015 RV at Water Fountain in front of Pavillion, next to Jalan Bukit Bintang.Time: 5pm-8pm.

KB WALK

I planned to have four days of Photowalking around Kota Bharu #KBWalk ,but due to unplanned family errands which I love doing for my  mother and son,I only managed to have two days with only less than 4 hours.Herewith I shared two photos taken behind Pejabat PAS. To do justice to the town,I need at least 7 full days and nights to capture the history  and culture of the place. My first attempt had revealed a lot more for me to explore, discover and capture.Another missing dimension I need to have with me before I embark on KBWalk is the history of Kota Bharu. It has to be another time..May be after Eidil Fitri.

COMPARISON BETWEEN MY IPHONE 14 ProMax VS FUJIFILM XT20

No camera is suitable for every occasion. Here is a simple comparison. Both have their own strengths and weaknesses, and I love both.
