KAKI LIMA #1

Kaki Lima is a Malay word for the five-foot walking pavement in front  the traditional shops. With the new building designs,Kaki \Lima lost its literal meaning. As for my photography,it is the immediate location in front of the shops.A lot of interesting human and commercial activities are taking place along the linear 5-foot space in front of the shops.

The Kaki Lima is also a street stage for fashion show .Lady is red kebaya attracted a lot of attention.Men had just to stop whatever they were doing and enjoyed the show time.

The pedestrian walkways along the building next to major roads in the city have their own 'Kaki Lima'.On my city tour,I do use the space for cycling my way in and around  the city centre.

It is also a place where young and old gather for a rest and conversations.I suggest we have wider and more 'Kaki Lima' in city centres and shopping complexes.
