How do I capture the ambiance in the restaurant? The feeling like I am there when I see the photo-almost can smell the aroma of coffee and hear the chattering of the people inside the cafe/restaurant.Personally,I love to be inside a good cafe either having a conversation with friends or even alone with myself. It is one of my hide-outs to be alone among the maddening crowd.
Cafes/restaurant come in many sizes, shapes and what they have to serve us.The quality comes from no stars to 6-star class.Over the years,I have been to these places and took a few photos as attached in this posting.Previously,I took photos for the beauty or attractiveness of the restaurant as appeared to me from outside or inside. As my interest in photography widens and deepens,I began to see the life or soul of the cafes/restaurants.Now,I am more interested to capture the feeing being inside the cafe/restaurant.I am still learning and began to fall in love becuase it is more than just nice interior decorations but more about the people having good time and good food/drink.
A lot of money was spent on planning, design and building up good cafes/restaurants.Many are doing well but a few just faltered and faded away. From my experience who had managed a chain of fast food restaurants and a great lover of food, the experience of eating is more important than the hardwares of the restaurant.Just look at the mamak shops. To me, the qaulity of service and the Food and Beverages served are the most dominant factors whether people will come back to the restaurant.Of course, prices do matter but every restaurant serves different clientel and market segmets. The mamak shop at Putrajaya sell roti canai with udang galah for RM50!
The above is a cool ambiance at Starbucks but we also have a local Teh Tarik Place-cool and cheaper.I go to both for different F&B.
The above is the highest restaurant I have ever been in my life.It is more than 40-storey high and located in one of the Petrnos Towers,KL.The views and food were great. Now,I cannot affort it and prefer on the low ground at Bangi or Putrajaya.
Restaurant is not just for eating but some people works there.Just Pay RM10 for a drink, and you can sit there for hours better than your office plus free wi-fi.
Umai Cafe is my favourite place to eat and chat with my friends after our cycling.Conversations,at times matter more than the cycling and the R&B.
Mobile Restaurant?Below is a good one from Grumpy Cyclist.
