Assuming I take 10 photos a day,and in one year,I will have at least 3,000 photos. No wonder,my flickr account has more than 20,000 photos. It was here that an advertizing agency noticed my landscape shot of Putrajaya Wetland and bought to use in advertisement to sell properties for Putrajaya Holding Sdn. Bhd.This is my first photo sale and for the time ever my photo was splased in three national newspapers. As non-professional photographer,it was my happiest moment since I bought my first DSLR in December,2006.My Flickr account is free.
About two years ago,I subscribed to a paid account at 500px.com.It is a good photo sahring website but it does not suit me.Now,I am keeping it as free account.
In 2014,I joined another photo sharing and archiving website. It is called EyeEm.com.It is more friendly and active as compared to Flickr and 500px.com.It was here that I got noticed by EyeEm and I was selected to be one of the subcribers chosen to submit my photos to be evaluated and put on at Getty Images.Todate,I have more than 100 photos at Getty Images and last week,I got one sale.It was very rewarding and inspiring to be recognised and acknowledged.
To new comers to the world of photography,I suggest you use this EyeEm.com.It is free, and you may get noticed like I did.As they say,the rest is history..
As Fujifilm camera owners,we have our own Malaysia Photo Club online at Club.fujifilm.my.Here,I upload and share my photos.I also take part in the competition. So far,I won none!
I love photography as much as I love cycling and reading.I blog about it but I also share with many of my friends at my Facebook.Facebook has a bigger audience than my blog.Whatever,we need to be at the right place to get noticed if we want to sell our photos or service.
I am not a professiona photographer but I hope to be a photo journalist for newspapers or travel magazines when I retire from my active business in project management consultancy and business lectures and coaching in a few years time.InsyaAllah.
