STREET PORTRAITS PHOTOGRAPHY

I know very little about this genre called Street Portrait Photography.To me, it is about shooting portraits of people on the streets.My first photo here is the famous professional photographer doing his job during the National Health Day in Putrajaya.No introduction is needed.

My learning in this genre is very slow because I am too shy or too scared to snap portrait photos of strangers on the street.

All the three men here are my personal friends.

The top and bottom photos are of my cycling and photography buddies while we were in Holland last May,2017

Top and bottom photos were taken in London last month.

Below is the managress of the hotel I stayed in Leiden.I stole a photo of her when she replied to a text message while we were having conversation at the lounge.

Taken from the upper deck of London Bus near the Bank of England,in the City of London.Here ,we have many portraits of London office workers.

Let the photo speak first?

Should photographers explain their photos, or let the images speak for themselves? A strong photograph can stand on its own. It invites people to look, pause, and interpret the moment in their own way. But sometimes a few words from the photographer reveal the quiet story behind the frame — what was seen, felt, or noticed in that fleeting moment. Perhaps the balance is this: Let the photo speak first. Let the words gently reflect afterwards. 📷
