RIDE & READ

First, let me thank Dato' Seri Dr Zaini Ujang for starting this initiative since January 2016 for our cycling group.Yesterday was our second time and first event for the year 2017.I hope we can do this event once every two months. Most of our group members read books regularly and enjoy reading as much as we enjoy cycling. However,to most of us,reading is a private affair. Reading a selected portion of the book is an explicit way of sharing what we read, what we think, what we learn. This exercise is also good for listening. In fact, listening is more difficult than reading. The more books we read do not eaual to the more knowledge we gain. However, good conversations about what we read may lead us to the path of knowledge and hopefully we shall arrive at the citadel of wisdom. "There is no short cut to knowledge and learning. Knowledge is not citations. Learning is not quotations. Knowing is understanding and understanding is to act in accordance to...

UPSTREAM LAKEVIEWS

What lies beyond this bridge under-pass? Below are some photos. The views below are nothing unusual but common visuals of marshy wetlands. It is not worth a second look for ordinary folks. To the environmentalists and water engineers, there are a lot of things going on in the still and moving waters here.

MY 2017 COLOUR IS GREEN!

Looking back over the last 50 years,we had destroyed a lot of green.Tree is the most abundant of God's creations. The colours of our rivers are testimonials for our greeds and stupidity in destroying our own environment. Not only trees we cut and mismanaged but we also destroyed many of our rivers. In order to make more money,we also polluted our air.In short,we shit into the river where we are going drink from. Clever or stupid??? Below is the retention pond that looks like a mini lake or river  located next to Yarra 8,Presint 8,Putrajaya.This is where I want to live-among the greens, besides the lake and next to the masjid!!! To see ducks swimming,I have to come to Putrajaya Wetlands. No more ducks loitering in my village like the 50s and 60s.I still remember some beautiful serati(a big size duck) but no more to be seen even in my kampung. To see these birds,I have to go to London and walk to Serpentine Lake, next to Hyde Park. What a pity..  Thank G...

B&W CITYSCAPE of KUALA LUMPUR

KL City began more than 200 years ago.Modern buildings came to town when British came to Malaya. As they say,the rest is history. As a city dweller for than 25 years,I live and breathe in KL.Over a few decades, the cityscape changed to more and more taller buildings. Now,it is the commercial centre of Malaysia as the administrative capitak went to Putrajaya in late 90s. You can see many changes as you drive or you travel on the LRT.Sometimes,I cycle to see the city. The  view as you enter the city from the north via PLUS Highway. TRANQUILITY

This is one of my favourite places to take photos in Putrajaya. At times,I come here with my wife for a morning walk. The view and the ambiance give me a feeling of peace and tranquility. It is a great place for family picnic. You can take a boat ride to explore the lakes or take a buggy ride to explore the botanical garden at Taman Botani nearby.Or you can go cycling into a 17km wetland trail or just walk or run. Or just sit at the resraurant, eat your nasi lemak and teh tarik and watch this view.

KL CITYSCAPE-LIVING IN THE CITY?

Mass Rapid Transport Beautiful Cityscape Or Concrete Jungle? Big Sewers Or Nice Rivers? The Taller The Better? The city is too full of buildings and transport infrastructure.Traffic cogestion is the order of the day-and night as well.Everything looks very commercial-we are either vendors or consumers. No money ,no talks. It is all business. Putrajaya is a city with lakes and wetlands located at your back doors! This is my dream city.It is there but I have yet to arrive.

EYEEM LESSON #04: FOCUS OBJECT

These are examples how I applied the above lesson: Flower with bokeh Capturing an innocent boy's face Three still objects with emphasis on the camera The above three photos were shot with shallow depth of field. The focussed object is the text and the out of focus is the context as shown in the above photo when the trains are entering and leaving the KL Sentral.

Zooming on anglers

I don't have the patience to be an angler since I was small. And I think one has to stay and remains quiet to get the fish to bite the bait. Not me-I love to walk around and socialise.Conversation is my passion. From my observation, the anglers are very individual in their appraoch.Everyone will select his own location and remains a bit away from each other. However, there are exceptions when when they are husband and wife.So far,I have not seen or read any angler sharing a good place to catch the fish.I believe it is a trade secret.Who wants to share their gold mine or rather fish tank? Below is someone who loves to be very far away from other anglers. As a photographer,I love to shoot this scenerio.
