Parfum

I love perfume!Who does not like nice smells? My first encounter with real perfume was way back in 1976 when I was leaving England after completing my engineering course at Sheffield University. Before boarding the plane at Heathrow 4, I asked a lady to suggest a present for my mother. She told me to buy Channel No. 5.It cost me about ten quids. It was 40 years ago. Now,I cannot afford it anymore.. My mother like it very much - the kind of smell that she never knew. One night, she put some parfum and went to perform her solat at my kampung surau. After the solat, all ladies came to her  and asked her what perfume she was using and where to get one.Aromatic is very powerful.

EYEEM.COM'S CHOICE

Here are two latest photos chosen by Eyeem.Com to put in their Gallery for sale.Out of 102 selected only one got sold in the last two years. This is not the place to make money but more of sharing photos with international audience and get recgnised for my work well done. Why EYEEM  chose these two photos I have no idea.I think it is more for commercial usage.I have a few better photos but their choice is theirs.Well...that is photography.

GREEN CITY

If we can't even plant trees like the above and maintain pots of flowers on the roadside,we can forget about having Green Cities. The government departments had great time and fun preparing strategy and policy papers but nothing much is implemented for the benefits of city dwellers. Our built environment are at the mercy of property developers whose only interest is to maximise return on their land bank with the support of city halls or town halls. In CBD of KL,more and more office towers and condominiums are constructed. There will a time, the traffic will become grid-locked. When are going to have Green Cities in Malaysia? Most likely is not happening  during my life time.May be when my grand children get married in 25 years time. All the photos shown were taken in Bangi.Someone did a good landscaping work some 25 years ago for two roads but too little to create the impact for green city. The worst part,no one continued adding more trees. The authorities could not even...

GARDEN PHOTOGRAPHY

My wife loves gardening since we bought our own house in Taman Maluri,KL way back in 1984.Watering the flowers everyday is like her routine to get breakfast ready for our kids before they go to school.Whenever, we return home after a family holiday, she will check her garden first. Whenever any new flowers blooming in Her Majesty Garden,I shall be summoned to take photos.Honestly,I hate gardening and I prefer to play with  my electronic gadgets. My wife has green fingers and I have brown fingers-only know how to press the shutter button on my camera.Over the course of three decades until now,I fell in love with taking photos of gardens and their flowers but not gardening. I love taking photos of flowers and shared at my blogs. With the public usage of Youtube and Facebook,I learned a lot from others.Through my reading of photo magazines and social media,I discovered that Garden Photography is a popular genre by itself. With this new understandin...

VISIT TO POSTCARD SIZE PHOTO EXHIBITION AT MATIC

LET ME CONGRATULATE THE ORGANISER/MYS2S FOR THE GREAT EFFORTS TAKEN TO GET 6102 PHOTOS FOR  THIS EXHIBITION AND ACHIEVEMENT FOR GETTING THE EVENT INTO MALAYSIAN BOOK OF RECORD.TAHNIAH TO THE ORGANISERS AND FELLOW PHOTOGRAPHERS. I  am glad to take part and saw five of my ten photos submitted. The other five more must be up on the few walls there. After seeing a few  walls of photo-at least 200 photos,my eyes could not see them any more.I lost focus and only see groups of nice photos. Here is my wife helping me looking for my photos as shown below.Using simple calculation,it will take two days working 8 hours a day if I take ten seconds to see each photo. None of my photos were seletecd fo the premier wall but nonetheless I am very happy that my name/personal portrait was posted on The Wall of Photographers as shown below. At least,I can prove to my wife that I am not only a professional engineer but I am being recognised as A Photographer. The Wall of...

Spring is in the air..

Leafy greens and colourful flowers never fail to make me walk a few kilometres. This morning,I decided to do meditation in motion by walking alone.I tried hard to disengage myself with the surrounding world around me as I walked the beautifully landscaped path, but somehow the chirping of the birds on the trees made me looked up and then my eyes locked on with the plant morphology.Up there,my thoughts were jumping from trees to trees until I encountered again with The Fibonacci Series in my mind. Thank God someone wished me good morning and I managed to descend to terra firma and continue my walk, took some photos of people walking and running.By the time I completed one round of 3km,the drizzles came down and I rushed to my car and went straight to Pusat Kejiranan Presint 11 for my mama mia nasi lemak.

Streets of Bangi

URBAN LANDSCAPE #02

AYER@8 IS A GOOD PIECE OF PROPERTY DEVELOPMET PACKAGE IN PUTRAJAYA.  I SAW GREAT ARCHITECTURE AND SPATIAL PLANNING WITH PLENTY OF SHOPS AND OFFICES TO MAKE IT A BETTER COMMERCIAL HUB THAN THE DIPLOMATIC ENCLAVE. FROM THIS LOATION,I CAN HAVE A MAGNIFICIENT VIEW OF THE MASJID.AT NIGHT IT GLOWS LIKE A HIDDEN GEM In this posting,I share a few photos of modern urban landscape at Ayer@8 Putrajaya.Whenever I was having my meals at Umai Cafe some years back,I was wondering what was going on across the lake. Now,this part of Presint 8 is alive and kicking day and night. It has become my cycling group meeting place.Restaurants are plenty. Putrajaya is about 20 years old and most buildings are new with many interesting features. There are a lot of photo opportunities for architectural and urban landscape photography.Just walk the streets from Masjid Putra to PICC and around The Island.

CYCLING PHOTOS

My riding friends relaxing with some meals after they did 24km ride.  At our pit stop at The Marina,we saw dragon boats practice. Some flowers along our cycling tracks..

Weekend Market

The market is not just for people to go and sell or buy things for their daily household's needs. It is also a social event for family members and friends to meet, have meals together and enjoy great conversations. Some ladies do take time and make effort to dress for this weekly occassion. This market is also popular among students at local universities,They come in groups for morning meals and take home food.

SDARA MEET AT BOND'S SON WEDDING

TREES EVERY WHERE

Let me share a few photos of trees in the gardens around Putrajaya.Trees make the place looks green and calm-good for our eyes, mind and spirit. And yet we are cutting them by ton loads everyday all over our counytry to serve our greeds. We need more trees for our healthy living than the trees need us.Just look around this planet earth and see for ourselves the abundant presence of trees bestowed on us by Allah,The Lord of All The Worlds as His Mercy for us. Ever wonder why God created so many trees that we could not even count? Way back in early 80's Tun Dr Mahathir suggested that we grow teak trees along highways.Thirty years later,we cut more trees than planting them.Anyone can show me any trees planted along the highways and roads in Malaysia? Putrajaya is a good show piece for other cities and towns in Malaysia to learn about planting trees and maintaining them.Below see some of them below..

DELI PARIS AT AMPANG PUTRI HOSPITAL

Branded and high end cafes are making their presence in private hospitals.I choose to eat at the canteen or cafeteria. At times, resistance is futile when  I crave for cappucino or espresso.Another factor that pulls me in into the cafe is the beutiful interior decorations. Lunch package for RM12.90 is affordable.

NIGHT LANDSCAPE

JAMBATAN SERI GEMILANG,PUTRAJAYA I seldom go out at night to take photos. Many night photos I took so far were when I go cycling with my friends some years back. Now,I sleep early as I grow older.Another reason that I have less photos at night is due to the need for me to use tripod.Honestly,I don't like to use it.As most photographers know,we need tripod if we shoot at night. Cities like KL and Putrajaya become more beautiful at night with plethora of street, building and advertisement lightings. To capture them is another problem. So far,I have not been successful to get great night shots. I love to see beautiful shots of night cityscape and the close shot of street scences. To date,I have not acquired the skills to capture such beauties.I need to follow friends and walk city streets at night. You may noticed that I only posted landscape photos as shown above.Next I must do NIGHT Street Photography with my friends. There are a lot...
