DEEPER OR LIGHTER SHADOWS

What is a shadow?-a dark shape that appears on a surface when someone or something moves between the surface and a source of light. : an area of darkness created when a source of light is blocked. :-Merriam-Webster Dictionary.

Shadow has various shapes and intensities. It changes with the sun's location and time of the day.Herewith I share many types of them from my photos taken over the years.

The top photo and the two photos below have dark shadows in different configurations. They have different impacts on the scene/locations.The top photo begs the question: Who are the people waiting for the train?Shadow hides important details in the photo and created more interesting stories. The unknown has many interpretations.

Below, we can see the patterns of the guard rails on the walkway. The boring concrete pavement now looks more interesting to see and walk.

Here is where the shadows created a leading lighted path to the cobbler. The shadow also hides the identities of passers-by.

The public enjoying the open air and the floors almost covered by soft shadows and yet enhanced the details,
texture and shapes of the negative space on the pavement and the steps - entrance to SOGO Shopping Complex.

The patterns of shadows created by the roofs between the sun and the floor. The floor has a story of its own.

Soft shadow shows all details.People look better  under the shadow than under direct sun light.

10th YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF ADIB NOH PHOTOGRAPHY BLOG

Here is a selection of my photos taken over the ten years with my Fujifilm camera, Smartphones (Samsung/apple) and Lumix LX5. How do I select 40 photos as shown here from more than 10,000 photos taken and uploaded? I just selected at random whatever photos I like to cover various genres of photography. May be I add ten more later.
