This is a nice green stair at Masjid Jamek LRT Station. However, this is not an element of the green city. DBKL needs to do more than that.
Lately, I saw a cluster of instant palm trees growing up in the compound of Masjid Jamek as shown below. Good efforts and well done! Better late than never.
On greening the city, all cities and towns in Malaysia must come and learn how Putrajaya planned, designed, constructed and maintain the greens in the city. What is more important is to have the right knowledge and attitude to do the right thing, keep doing it again and again and do it right. See the photos above and below.
From my observation in the last 10 years. Kuala Lumpur has done very little to green the city. The developers raced to build towering concrete jungles to make tons of money. The city plan was not even gazetted to make it official. Who cares about life in the city? The rich elites from all sectors were laughing all the way to the bank. Just look at a few snapshots of KL below...
A few trees are planted all of the empty spaces between buildings in KL as shown next to Lot 10.
This is Sungai Klang flowing through the city next to LRT Station Pasar Seni.
DBKL should come to Putrajaya and learn something on how to green the city.
