Let me share a few photos that I took when our Putrajaya Photowalk Group did a city walk around the newly painted back lanes/alleys near Jalan Bukit Bintang. I knew their names but this is my first time walking these infamous streets.
To my lovely surprises, DBKL (The City Hall of KL) has done great initiatives to make these streets more presentable to us locals and the tourists. Just being creative and with a small fund for repainting and minor repairs, a lot can be improved on the facades of these old buildings and the streets. This is not yet retrofitting and urban renewable projects for the urban decay but it is a damn good start. Kudos to DBKL. Other cities in Malaysia must learn from Bandar Melaka and DBKL.
This is an old boutique hotel with a few bird cages hung on the wall.
CLEAN AND COLOURFUL
TWO SIDES OF THE SAME BUILDING- THE FORMER AND THE LATER
EVEN KID IS HAVING FUN WALKING HERE.
OLD HABITS DIE HARD.
Hopefully, we can also change our dirty habit to clean habit. With the new government, I look for better change. New broom sweeps clean.
