10 Weeks with Fujifilm X100T

I got my Fujifilm XT1 almost three years ago and love it.It replaced my old DSLR Canon 400D.About a year go my Lumix LX5 started giving problems and six months ago,it just died due to old age. So,I was looking for something compact from Fujifilm.X100T won my heart after I saw and read how great street photographers use it.The price was too steep for me.So,I asked around trying to get a second hand one. When I heard my friend wanted to dispose his X100T,I asked him to give me first choice of refusal. So,on 24th June,2016 he lent me his camera so that I can test and use it.If I like it,I will offer to buy from him.

When it comes to get info and learn something new,I first asked Uncle Google. There are so many good articles and tips.At the same time,I watched a few good videos from Youtube on how good photographer set up and use X100T.Learning takes a lot of time and  when I have to apply what I learnt is another story.

I used Fujifilm X100T whenever I go cycling or shopping in Putrajaya and Kuala Lumpur.Whenever there exits any photo opportunities,I just flipped out my X100 T and started shooting. At times,it was very frustrating when I got blurred photos and photos in the wrong colours.

I also put some efforts to learn shooting B&W photos. Many times, the light was wrong and the tones went haywired.A wild thought came to tell me to forget about X100T. Just use my smart phone camera Note5.Many a time, the outcomes from smart phone camera were better than X100T.I did not blame the camera. It was my incompetency in using a wide angle prime lens camera. So,I kept learning through making mistakes. In photography,my learning went through a few iterative processes.I need to be patient, and also be passionate about it.

After a month of using it,I was comtempating of returning X100T to its owner and say good bye...

It was an alternate  love and hate affairs.Deep inside, I want this camera as a second camera for me to go places-travels,cycling,street etc and keeping my XT1 for something more important.Slowly,my confidence in using X100T improves as my photos got better more often as shown above and below .

During a photowalk on the LRT,I explored both colour and B&W photography and came home happier.

May be I need another two weeks to make my decision -to buy or not to buy. When the time comes,I will inform the kind owner first before I write in this blog.

KB WALK

I planned to have four days of Photowalking around Kota Bharu #KBWalk ,but due to unplanned family errands which I love doing for my  mother and son,I only managed to have two days with only less than 4 hours.Herewith I shared two photos taken behind Pejabat PAS. To do justice to the town,I need at least 7 full days and nights to capture the history  and culture of the place. My first attempt had revealed a lot more for me to explore, discover and capture.Another missing dimension I need to have with me before I embark on KBWalk is the history of Kota Bharu. It has to be another time..May be after Eidil Fitri.
