PHOTOGRAPHY FOR A CAUSE

What cause shall it be? There are many causes that photography can contribute - humanity, environment, education, military etc.Photography is a great medium to communicate due to visual ability to tell its own stories in details and beyond words when it comes to emotions.

Looking back after taking more than 30,000 photos in the last decade, it is time now that I do something for a cause beyond my own personal desire and satisfaction.I decided to focus on photos of our environment, which is badly monitored and badly managed if any.

Below is the view of KL as we drive into the city from North South Expressway. From the forest of green trees, we have successfully turned this part of KL into a Concrete Jungle!

This is an environment we built for our community.We allowed it to happen and we deserve to live in it. But not the elite group who raked millions from this property development and they live in gated bungalows with golf course and club facilities.

Should photographers explain their photos, or let the images speak for themselves? A strong photograph can stand on its own. It invites people to look, pause, and interpret the moment in their own way. But sometimes a few words from the photographer reveal the quiet story behind the frame — what was seen, felt, or noticed in that fleeting moment. Solitude at the Water’s Edge At the quiet margins of Putrajaya Wetlands Park, moments of stillness often reveal themselves in the simplest scenes. This photograph captures one such moment — a lone bird standing calmly in the shallow waters of the wetlands, surrounded by patches of emerging green and a mirror-like surface that reflects the sky above. What makes this scene compelling is its sense of solitude. The bird stands alone, yet it does not appear lonely. Instead, it seems completely at ease in its environment. The calm water, lightly textured by ripples, creates a soft canvas where reflections blur the boundary between sky and earth.
