PUTRAJAYA WETLAND

The marshy landscape of Putrajaya Wetlands is a masterpiece of nature and design, where ecology, tranquility, and urban planning blend harmoniously. In the image, the still water mirrors the lush greenery — tall trees standing gracefully along the banks, aquatic reeds swaying lightly in the breeze, and layers of vegetation reflecting in soft tones of green and gold. The quiet surface of the wetland conceals an abundance of life: fish, amphibians, insects, and waterfowl thrive here, forming a living mosaic of biodiversity just minutes away from the heart of the city.

The beauty of the wetlands lies not only in their visual serenity but also in their dynamic ecological function. The marshes filter sediments and pollutants naturally, acting as the kidneys of the environment. As rainwater flows from the city into the wetlands, suspended solids and contaminants are absorbed by aquatic plants, resulting in cleaner water entering the lakes and rivers beyond.

These wetlands also serve as a carbon sink, absorbing greenhouse gases and moderating the local climate — a crucial service in dense urban areas like Putrajaya. Their vast green expanse lowers surrounding air temperatures, provides a natural buffer against floods, and supports countless migratory birds, making it a haven for both wildlife and people seeking quiet refuge.

For city dwellers, Putrajaya Wetlands offer more than scenic beauty — they provide a living classroom, a recreational sanctuary, and a reminder that sustainable urban life depends on maintaining harmony with nature. The reflection of trees in calm water is not just an image of peace; it symbolizes balance — between progress and preservation, between human ambition and the gentle resilience of the natural world.

KB WALK

I planned to have four days of Photowalking around Kota Bharu #KBWalk ,but due to unplanned family errands which I love doing for my  mother and son,I only managed to have two days with only less than 4 hours.Herewith I shared two photos taken behind Pejabat PAS. To do justice to the town,I need at least 7 full days and nights to capture the history  and culture of the place. My first attempt had revealed a lot more for me to explore, discover and capture.Another missing dimension I need to have with me before I embark on KBWalk is the history of Kota Bharu. It has to be another time..May be after Eidil Fitri.
