WORLD PHOTOGRAPHY WEEK 12-26 AUGUST 2024


 World Photography Week is celebrated globally with World Photography Day on August 19, 2024, as the centerpiece. This day honors the art, history, and evolution of photography, marking the anniversary of the daguerreotype process, the first photographic technique unveiled by Louis Daguerre in 1839. World Photography Week often features various events, exhibitions, and social media activities, all aimed at celebrating and promoting photography.

The 2024 theme for World Photography Day is "An Entire Day," encouraging photographers to capture the myriad of activities and moments that occur around the world in a single day. Throughout the week, photography enthusiasts are invited to share their work on social media using the hashtag #WPD24 to have their photos potentially featured on platforms like those of the Royal Photographic Society.

This celebration provides an opportunity for photographers of all levels to showcase their work, learn from others, and appreciate the rich history and technological advancements in photography .
