For the year 2019, I wanted to create something different for our group members to take, share and learn about our passionate hobby-Photography. To wake up the slumber, I organised a ride on a catamaran cruise boat at Putrajaya. Only six members out of more than 300 members came for the occasion. Thank God, we were blessed by a sunny day with a clear blue sky like in Europe!
One of the ways to see differently is to be at a different location from the normal. So, we took a boat that travels near and under the bridge. From being closer, we can see and capture something we have not seen before-like the photo above and below.
Robert Capa once said, “If your pictures aren’t good enough, you’re not close enough.” Capa wasn’t advocating the use of longer lenses; he was telling us to physically get closer — to become more involved and intimate with our subjects. In fact, a wide-angle lens is often a better choice than a telephoto lens when you want to “zoom in” on your subject.-Quoted.

To catch a thief, one needs to be thinking like a thief. Similarly with the photography-I need to be on a boat to shoot the photo of another boat. The above view was hidden for the public at SELERA PUTRA. As mentioned by renowned photographer, your photo is not good enough because you are not close enough. He died as a war photojournalist on the job. For me, safety comes first.
Below is the photo of my partners in crime. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen, for joining me on our first Photowalk in 2019.
