I have two smart phone camera apps to shoot Black & White.First is the Black Camera and last two weeks I started using LENKA.Many apps have their owb strenghts and weaknesses.Just choose what suit you best to reflect your own style.I am using Note5 and it has it own camera apps which is also very good as well.It is how well you know how touse your apps for ech situation.
When it comes to smart phone,we have to be smarter in selecting the right apps not forgetting basic photography like good composition and lighting.
