PHOTOWALK LRT 31072016

First thing first-we have breakfast before we start our morning walk. About 10 persons wanted to come but only can make it. Seats for senior citizens,Handicap,Pregnant women. The man said he is pregnant an the woman is OKU-cannot read. New design of LRT Station Putra Heights. My preferred mode of transport to KLIA and KL Sentral.

Creative mobile photography

How do we become creative in taking photos using  our smart phone? This morning, the clouds were very beautiful. Here are some photos with some elements added in to create better photos. Here,I used different compositions and lighting. With some apps, you can do many real and surreal photography.

GRAPHIC IN PHOTOS

I love to see graphic in term of patterns, lines, curves and circles when I compose and take photos.May it,it began when I learnt technical and engineering drawings a few decades ago when I was a student.I see beauty in the symmetry and the lines and the curves forming beautiful patterns.I use B&W photos to enhance the shape, texture and form like the the photos shown above and below. Below is a colour shot of the arches along the line of qiblat at Masjid Sultan Tuanku Mizan,Putrajaya.I just love the symmetry. There are four arches from different blocks of structures in this photo.

LIGHT INTENSITIES

The above is the morning shot of The Loaf at The Nu Sentral. As I went down the escalator,I immediately noticed the high intense lighting from the sun into the cafe.Combined with the ambient lighting from the light bulbs, the cafe glowed with beauty! Below are three bright coloured objects that have become the instant beauties when the high intensities of light fell on them. That is the power of light!

It is The Light

Without light, there is no life and no photography.I am not here to write about the roles and impacts of light on photograph. At the end of this posting below the last photo I attach the link. What I am blogging is about my experience in using the light and the objects to create great photographs  from my perspective.I love the morning light as shown above and I also like the evening light as shown in the last photo. The fun part was in the planning, framing  and executing in the making of these images. How did I get these cool photos? Good luck is a must but we must the know the subject and the place well in order to select the best subject to take photo, the time and the way how to shoot. The above is a very special photo for me.I have never visualised this image-not even in my dream.I was shooting a  few colour photos. When I decided to convert it to B&W photo, discovered this shot gave me a surreal image like what you see above. It is a gift f...

Raya Ride Photos

Today,I brought Fujifilm X100T to snap some photos during my ride.It is part of my learning to use prime lens camera to shoot portraits, events and street photography. There were a  lot of photo opportunities but I had to pass them because I was leading the ride. The photo above was taken on my way back. Last night it rained and the drizzle-only faded away at about 8am.We waited for 8:30am so that we have less water on the road pavement and safer for us to ride. Rain is bad news for cycling but after the rainfall,we have fresh air and cool temperature to cycle. It was like autumn this morning.I  was worried to take charge of 40 riders but two fellow riders were helpful enough to be doing some marshalling work.Everything went well.Alhamdulilah. Ladies only photos with nice and colourful dresses etc. Below ,the men joined in. Bersalaman-Selamat Hari Raya,Maaf zahir Batin.

LENKA

I have two smart phone camera apps to shoot Black & White.First is the Black Camera and last two weeks I started using LENKA.Many apps have their owb strenghts and weaknesses.Just choose what suit you best to reflect your own style.I am using Note5 and it has it own camera apps which is also very good as well.It is how well you know how touse your apps for ech situation. When it comes to smart phone,we have to be smarter in selecting the right apps not forgetting basic photography like good composition and lighting.

CATCH OF THE DAY

Let me share three photos that I could get now to show some interesting photos that I categorised as CATCH OF THE DAY.This type of photos are hard to come by.I cannot plan for it to happen.I just have to be ready. When I see,I just shoot. At least three shots from different angles and locations if I could. Many a time,it is just one lucky shot! Below is a special incident when a saw somone came into a restaurant and convinced someone to buy an umbrella. It was raining outside. The lady bought that umbtrella.Great sale technique! I will try to create an album for Catch of the Day photos.

Moving Closer to Darker Side

I am moving deeper to the darker side of photography-literally and metaphorically speaking. Getting into the unknown territories Only one thing that I am sure-I am still sane and sober. And I think I am still on The Street Photography Cube but have no clue which side I am on.

Tall Views

How do you shoot  a few floors of building or tall structures? One thing I am very sure it had caused me some pains in my neck look upwards.Honestly,I prefer to look down like what I did as shown above.I used Fujifilm X100T Below is a spiral staircase that I can only shoot from the bottom. In cases like these, our locations are very important before we can start shooting with whatever camera we have at that time.I used XT1 How do I shoot the arched entrance about four storeys tall at Masjid Tuanku Sultan Mizan?I don't know but this photo was what I did.Any better ways to skin this goat? Below is what I did-I stood on the second floor to shoot all the 5 floors of Suria KLCC.Last but not least..

Sidewalk Views

When I go to a cafe,I will choose the table with a good view.I love to see people passing by outside. It is another factor that adds joy to my experience having meal.Of course the food, the ambience and the company do matter but the views are changing all the time.I have the feeling of being part of life on the streets out there. As an amateur photographer who loves to shoot street photos, this location gives me opportunity to shoot photos under the shade.

MOLEX ICED TEA

What is a MOLEX photo? A glass of iced tea is an ordinary object. How to make it looks Extra Ordinary? You have to be creative with your camera. First, the composition. Second, the lighting. Third ,the camera setting. Then, aim and shoot!

B&W with Fujifilm X100T

Just playing and exploring B&W  shots with X100T during our BTM Raya Gathering. We are a group that love to tweak technologies to the extreme applications.Hence ,our group name is PALMX.X means Xpert,Experience and Xtreme!!!
