Whenever I join KLCFD Ride,I will take some time of the two hours car free roads to take photos of people cycling,walking,running skating etc.My objective is to capture the joys of people taking part in whatever they love doing.It is not just the physical activities taking place but also the social activities at the same time.
DBKL organises thie event on first and third Sundays every month.Looking at thousands of people taking part,it shows that the people love to cycle,walk,run etc in the city provided the roads are safe.Safety is a major concern for parents to allow their children to engage in cycling,walking running etc.
From my observations,these KLCFD are just monthly sport events.It may create awaresness but the people will not cycle in the city as alternative mode of transport.DBKL must learn from Amsterdam,Copenhagen,Paris and London when it comes to get commuters on their saddles.
Yesterday,I decided to use my Fujifilm X-T1 to shoot these photos for better quality shots.Normally,I use my smart phone camera to take cycling photos.
