This is my subject of FOCUS for 2024. I have been writing about it every three months for the last eight years. In photography as in any other discipline of knowledge, talk is cheap. The essence of knowledge is not having it but to apply it. The first time I learned this subject was when I attended the master class by Peter Sanders about nine years ago. Since then, I have tried to practise based on my limited knowledge. It was a slow process via self-taught. I was looking for further guidance and yesterday I watched a YouTube presentation by Judy Hancock Holland. She really opened my eyes and mind to how to improve my art of seeing by focusing on composition. Looking at the above photo, I learned to see the blocks that form my composition-color, lines, shape, pattern and lighting. From now on, I want to do more artistic photography with a message and a story attached. so help me God.
