It is better to fall asleep here than home.

Indoor shots with Fixed Lens 23mm

Night shot using 23mm

Elegant view of Jambatan Seri Wawasan.

Different views from different location: Yesterday,I led about two dozens riders to enjoy the fun and beauty of cycling in Putrajaya. This time,I took them via the entrance of Sek Keb. Presint 8 and through a short but colourful underpass below this bridge.I had a pleasant suprise to see such an intricate and magnificent view of the bridge as shown. This is one of the positive outcomes when we dared to take The Path Less Travelled in our lives....

My Brompton bike

Promoting healthy life style..

Walking is the cheapest way to keep fit.The main obstacle is to step out of our house and go for a walk.Everyone can do it and enjoy the fun..

Loving care of a mother..

Light,shadows and reflections..

It is all about being there at the right time like this morning. So, I just shot this photo with my smart phone..

Harmony of nature..

What do we see?

Referring to the photo,we see both-the real bridge and its distorted reflection on the surface of the water.Without prior knowledge of the subject,we would not know what image is real.To see, we need light, eyes and mind. Our minds are different;that is  why we "see" the same thing differently. Our minds or perceptions can behave like water under this bridge. The state of the mind is a very important factor in helping us to see the things as they are.In fact, what our eyes see is the reflected image of the reality on our retinas.May Allah help me to see what is haq as true and real, and what is batil as false and illusion.-

A photo has many stories..

A few of my friends like this photo I took last Monday during my morning walk with my wife.It is located next to The Malaysia China Friendship Garden and near Seri Saujana Bridge. As we walked under the bridge,my eyes saw the composition as shown. So I asked to my wife to walk ahead of me to create a human presence inside  my photo. What attracted me first was  the yellow petals below the trees by the lakes. Then the curved pavement and grass converging into the horizon.Something inside myself made me want to take this photo,so I did as always. My heart is the Commanding Officer when it comes to what to snap.. When I posted this photo at my Facebook ,I was very glad to receive a few good feedbacks.Different people saw different things from the above photo.I have my story but my friends have their own stories.Even one friend has more than one story from  this photo. As a photographer,I will keep looking to snap photos with good stories for everyone.

Cactus

Cycling photos..

My friends had a great time feeding fish at Taman Botani. It made me happy because my friends are happy and the fish got free food.. My interest in photography was activated when I started taking photos of my cycling activitis way back in 2008.I bought my first DSLR Canon 400D in December,2006 but only used it for special occassion like family events and holidays. We took photos and shared them among our friends in our cycling group.I learnt my first few lessons mainly from my cycling buddies who are good photographers like Nazley,Rahmat,Adzmi and others. When I lead the cycling tribe,I will take them to places that they will enjoy most. That way, they will keep cycling and maintain good healthy life style.

Great sunset is very rare!

How do you shoot a great photo of sunset? I have been shooting sunsets  many times over the last eight years since I first bought my DSLR-a Canon 400D in 2006.Most are just ordinary shots of ordinary sunsets.Anyone with a camera and point and shoot a sunset. Most likely ,they are going to be beautiful photos. Personally,I have two great SUNSET MOMENTS-one in Kuala Perlis and the recent one was in Putrajaya as shown in the photo above. This sunset was extraordinary beautiful and I got lucky to take the photo from a good location with nice foreground. It made my day..

Shooting A Bridge

Yesterday ,I went to shoot two bridges in Putrajaya for my collection of beautiful engineering structures. There are a lot of interesting features I would had missed if I were to come and snap photos like most tourists.I was alone and have all the time for myself. What I did was walking around the bridge-and from ON the bridge as well as UNDER  the bridge. There were a lot of interesting parts, abstracts and angles I could shoot. One  lesson I like to share  with new photographers is that we must know subject well. Then,we start shooting.

Street Photography -View from Pasar Tani.

As I was about to eat my satay breakfast at Pasar Tani MAEPS,Serdang my eyes caught a lady with a unique dress as shown in the photo. Then I saw a man wearing a hat sitting in front of her. Many Malays wear kopiah but seldom wearing hats.Immediately ,I took my smart phone and snapped this photo.Looking into the photo, I realized that we Malaysians are having their breakfast festivals with our families every weekends.According to my friends, this photo reflects the prosperity of Malaysia as a nation.By the way ,food is a plenty..so is obesity is 50% in Malaysia. As I walk or cycle on the  road,I actually was watching a movie or a  few snapshots of how people live their lives-and I am part of it.Most of us live ordinary lives but at times, I manage to see the extra-ordinary dimension of our daily lives. That is what I was looking for when I go for photowalk or street photography.Sometimes, the meaning is hidden a few layers beyond the the exposed pixels. Story-telling with six photos

Yesterday I ran experiment on how to tell a story by using only six photos at my Facebook timeline,Perantau Bachok Group and my Putrajaya Photowalk group.I have uploaded two stories related to the beauty of my beloved Pantai Irama.To-date,I have seen one friend uploaded a story about his visit to Oxford ,England. So far, only at Perantau Bachok that I received more than 100 likes in less in 6 hours. The saying -a picture paints a thousand words. In reality, from my POV,we need more than one photo. That is why,I proposed six photos .Why six?I use a cube as an idealised model of object. It has six sides-top,bottom,front,back,left and right. From my observation,at least one photo must have a good story with strong emotional appeal.Just like a hero in a movie. The rest are supporting actors. If my experiment receives support from fellow photographers,I plan to produce and print our group photobook,InsyaAllah .
