BRIDGES

Bridges are every where to be seen.I only began to get interested in bridge when I learnt structural engineering at Sheffield University way back in early 70s.On the wall of the corridor to see my professor  Dr I W Burgess,I saw a photo of Bailey Bridge. It was invented during World War 11 by Mr Bailey ,a graduate from Sheffield University.Later I learnt about the failure of Tacoma Bridge due to resonance from wind loadings and visited construction of Humber Bridge. As they say,the rest is history .During my days in PWD(JKR),I have supervised the construction of at least 20 bridges and as a contractor,I have constructed 9 bridges and the longest is only 200metres long via design and construct contract. Now,my interest is only to take photos of nice and historical  bridges. There is a lot to be learnt and done even taking photos. Bridges come in many shapes, sizes sand lengths. The above may cost RM50,000 but the bridge below may cost RM50,000,000! Below...

As we cycle..

Let me share some of the photos I took along our cycling route. There are so many beautiful places to take photos. Most important of all we take  our own photos enjoying our weekend cycling. Our first ride on Seri Saujana Bridge We logged in 20km shown in my Pebble Time. Along the route,we saw a pond of pink lilies. Below is the only one with lavender colour.

Pasar Tani MAEPS

TOO COLOURFUL

In the last decade since I bought my DSLR in December,2006 I have very close encounters with sceneries and objects that I found them really very, very colourful.Anyone with a camera will have to snap it no matter what. The beautiful colours just stopped me and made me take all these photos. Whenever I see something really beautiful,I have to calm myself and take a deep breath. Then, slowly figure out how to compose the photos. To be on the safe side,I will take as many shots I can of the objects or the sceneries. And pray for the best.

URBAN AND URBANE

The Moroccan Pavilion at Taman Botani,Putrajaya.Ie bodies knowledge, architecture, culture etc. The view of concrete jungle of the City of KL-the commercial and business hub of Malaysia. The mix of business and leisure living in City of Putrajaya. Last but not least is the place where we worship our God.

UNIQUE B&W SHOTS

UNIQUE HERE APPLIES TO ME. The top photo  relates to a unique black and white lined wall of LV Shop in Suria KLCC and I managed to shoot a lady wearing black and white stripes stopping by to see the shoes/hand bags. Below I captured a group of smokers with a special escalators as the background. First time I shot portrait using prime lens 50mm with Canon 400D.This is my first encounter with fixed lens.Hope to get 35mm fixed lens for my Fujifilm X-T1 Above is about the height and below is about the symmetry. The subject matter below is in black and white. Foggy morning in Putrajaya due to heavy burning in Sumatra. I thought the man was waiting for this lady but to my anti-climax,the lady was passing through.Never assume and judge anything before you have enough evidence. Below is where a lot of unsuspecting pedestrians got shot by me.This place has the attributes to create dramatic photos whic...

Street Photo with Written Story

Last night I read an interesting Facebook posting by writer friend Awang Goneng who lives in London.Personally,I love to blog and I like taking photos. Why not I combine the two hobbies and turn the outcome into some form of photo journalism?Anyway,it is not for me to categorise what it is.Just do and enjoy the fun and the benefits if any... Here I go.. She is alone on the concrete deck cantilevering above the lake. There are two couples sitting and standing at nearby pontoons. This place is actually Water Sport Centre for Putrajaya but there I saw nothing is on today. It is a nice place to come and enjoy the views. How I wish I had my book to read here. Actually I came here with my wife for our morning walk. When I saw this triangle of people,it reminds me of what I learnt in photography about patterns and layers. So I stopped ,snapped this shot and continue walking  to Pullman Hotel. As I was walking away,my mind was still wondering what the lady was thinking sittin...
